Morocco mountains and desert

  Marrakech





Day 1: Ouarzazate
After breakfast we are leaving Marrakech on the way to Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, heading south.
We will drive through mountain pass Tizi n'Tichka in High-Atlas massif, on the caravan road that connect the Sahara with Marrakech.
On the road we will visit Telouet village, where we will find the luxurious remains of a Kasbah that
was a place of residence to El Glaoui family (the Lords of the Atlas), the family who ruled Morocco during the French Protectorate.
On the way to Ouarzazate, we are descending southwards into the pre-desert countryside, for visit the UNESCO World Heritage Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou, a popular film location.

Day 2: Zagora
After breakfast we are leaving Ait Ben Hadou Kasbah in direction to Zagora, we stop for visit the Fint Oasis where we will assist to a local tea ceremony, following the customs of the local inhabitants.
We will depart and follow the road towards the Draa Valley, for having lunch in a Kasbah right in the center of the Valley.

After lunch, our journey continue following the paths through the agricultural lands of growing wheat and palm.
By our arrival in Zagora, we will visit the Valley and the Tamegroute Village, where we have free afternoon for dinner and overnight.


Day 3:
Merzouga
After breakfast, we head east into the Sahara on basic 4x4 off-road, passing first through rocky terrain then progressively entering sandier landscapes, after we pass the desert villages of Tissmoumine and Oum Jrane.
At Maider, an area nomads use to graze their herds of camels, we may have the opportunity to visit one of the families who live in hand-woven goat and camel hair tents.
Continuing deeply in to the desert to Tafraout, and having great fun 4x4 through the sandy river basin of Oued Rheris (Mud River) & village of Remlia, our way is following over the magical seas of orange dunes and contrasting spaces of black shiny volcanic rock. Well crossing alluvial fans, ridges, dry river basins, and sandy areas en route to our camp in the sand dunes of erg chibi, we may find some Orthoceras, trilobite, and ammonite fossils from the Devonian geological era.

Day 4:
Todra gorge & valley
After breakfast we are on our way,
In the heart of the desert, on the road of a thousand kashbahs, the charming town Erfoud rests at the foot of the High Atlas, we will visit one of its marble quarries. There are many in this region and they are specialized in the extraction and polishing of fossilized rock.
By crossing the Oued Rheris, in the middle of the desert we will discover the celestial stairway, the
golden spiral and Orion’s city, three monumental works by the German artist Hannsjoerg Voth.
The site is indescribable!
We will take the piste to pass through eastern part of High Atlas following the Tinghire direction, crossing over the rocky volcanic terrain and the magnificent villages such as Tazazart, Tinghire, and Todra River Valley, which makes our beautiful journey towards the final destination for today, the magnificent, colossal Todra Gorges.
Dinner and overnight in our hotel.


Day 5: Dades valley
After breakfast, we are on the way to Dades,
enjoying the 4x4 drive adventure on the piste with river-crossing followed with a picturesque mountain surroundings, we will reach the Berber village Tamtatouchte with its beautiful Kasbah, after a visit hthere, we are on the way towards the final destination for today, the magnificent colossal Dades canyon.
Dinner will be served in our hotel.


Day 6: Ouzoud waterfall
After breakfast we head to Ouzoud, by driving along the roads that cross the Dades Valley, and passing through the High Atlas mountains.
Admiring the fortified villages constructed of earth and sands, we cross the rose valley of Megouna (road of 1000 kasbah), as our drive continue to Ouzoud waterfall.
At Imi-n-Ifri we will take a hiking path, for visit the natural bridge.
Our arrival at Ouzoud waterfall, is expected at 19:00
Diner will be served in hotel.



Day 7: Imilchil
After breakfast we have a walking tour along the Ouzoud river, through the canyon to the mexican village, where we have a visit at the locals, for having a tea break.
After taking our luggage from hotel, our driving direction is via el Ksibah, "Switzerland Marocaine", Azilal and the huge dam of Bin El-Ouidane to reach Beni Mellal, where we will visit the Ayn Asserdoun sources and admire the panoramic view of the Ras Borj el-Ain.
On the evening we will arrive in Imilchil, famous for it's festival of betrothal in september.
This tradition goes back to the time where Ait Hadiddou nomads meet once a year to exchange the products of crops and livestock. And building alliances has gave birth to the legend of the betrothed... It continued until today.


Day 8: Midelt
After breakfast we are leaving our hotel,
We are still passing through the Atlas Mountains and descend to the north at the gorges of jaafar - Aït Hadiddou territory. We take the road to tounfit, visiting cirque of jaafar. Continuing our way to to sufisme village and village of 1000 poets.
The diner and overnight, we have in our hotel in middle.


Day 9: Fes

After breakfast, we will leave to fez via Moulay Idriss I - a Morocco's sacred city.
We will visit the Roman ruins - Volubilis.
After lunch break, we will continue on our journey to Meknes - the Moroccan "Versailles".
Visit the old Medina, Bab El Mansour as well as the modern part of the city.

Day 10: Casablanca
Transfer to Airport, leaving Marocco after the flight schedule
