Rundrejse i Montenegro

1. day Kotor, Njeguši & National park Lovćen
It is depending where the flight arrival is, there are four possibilities: Podgorica, Tivat, Tirana and Dubrovnik, and the time of arrival/departure is playing a role to our first and last day of the trip... anyway,
Our Itinerary is taking us through the mountain massif and National park Lovćen,
We will visit the old town of Kotor, the sightseeing tour is with a local guide…
after the Italian ice-cream ☺ we continue our journey by driving uphill the 28 serpentine on the oldest asphalt road in Montenegro, made by King Nikola's budget. That way was once, the only way to connect the south with the central Montenegro, the old royal capital Cetinje with Kotor harbor on the Mediterranean coast.
On the way from Kotor to Cetinje, after the 28’Th serpentine we will reach Njeguši the birthplace of Njegoš, the last ruler of MNE from the time of Petrović dynasty... This is the most beautiful panoramic road over the Boka Bay (Tivat, Kotor & Herceg Novi).
The Njeguši Area is unique by the climatic atmosphere made by meeting of two climate, the Mediterranean from south and Continental from North, that event is making this area the natural Air SPA, the perfect area for smokehouses of prosciutto & cheese. We will visit one of the biggest, and having lunch at this local family,
For lunch we have a special plate of local organic homemade dishes: prosciutto, cheese and butter, fresh baked bread, season salad and fresh milk ☺
After lunch we are leaving Njeguši on our way to visit the old Royal capital of MNE – Cetinje (18482 citizens).
Arrival in our 4* hotel is expected at 19:00h ca.
Dinner is served in hotel at 20:00h
2. day - National park Skadar lake with Printing house Crnojevići and Žabljak Crnojevića

Theme of the day: Rule and Kingdom of Montenegro
Our Itinerary is taking us to National park Skadar lake for visiting the small fisherman town Rijeka Crnojevića (our hidden treasure), where we will visit the first printing house in Balkan and southeastern Europe, also the first state press in the world, which facility operated between 1493 and 1496 in Cetinje. The printing house Crnojević was founded by Đurađ IV, the ruler of the principality of Zeta between 1490 and 1496. The printing-press was operated by orthodox monks led by hieromonk Makarije. Five books printed in this printshop remain preserved, and all are for orthodox liturgy: Oktoih Prvoglasnik, Oktoih Petoglasnik, Psaltir, Trebnik (Molitvenik) and Cvetni Triod (Čevtverojevađelje). These books were as well the first printed books among the southern Slavs.
On the River bank, we will be served the Lunch: carp fish chowder, with fish specialty prepared on a typical way, served with potatoes, season salad, and a glass of homemade white wine ☺
After lunch we leave on a boat-cruise photo-trekking through the National park for enjoying the beautiful surroundings until we reach our next destination for visit, the Žabljak of Crnojević - the capital of medieval state Zeta.
For overnight we are situated in capital town Podgorica, in our 4* hotel.
Dinner is served in the hotel at 18:00h
At 19:30h we have the Folklore show in cultural informative center KIC Budo Tomović ☺
3. day - Waterfalls of Cijevna River, Morača River Canyon and Monastery of Morača.

Theme of the day: Montenegrin vines
Our Itinerary is taking us to visit the biggest (one parcel) winery in the world.
We will taste different types of Montenegrin wines, after which we will move-on to the bank of Cijevna river for having lunch in the National restaurant at the waterfalls ☺
For Lunch we will be served: goatling specialty, with potatoes under the *Sač (Iron bell), with seasonal salad, goat cheese and this family's homemade wine ☺
* (Under the SAČ, is a traditional way to cook the food),
After lunch, passing Podgorica we are entering the canyon of Morača river, driving through this amazing nature creation, we have a few photo stops and the Visit of Morača Monastery for praying and getting blessing from God ☺
Arrival in our 4* Hotel is expected at 19:00h ca.
Dinner is served in the hotel.

4. day - National park Biogradska gora and Biograd lake, Rafting on Tara river

Theme of the day: having fun☺
We are driving straight in the 1. Zone of National park Biogradska gora walking the ring of the lake (ca. 4,5 km of straight path) ☺
Sensation is guaranteed on this 2-½ h rafting trip ☺
On the rubber-boat, with a licensed Raft-guide we will lower us down the "The tear of Europe" through the 1600 m deep river canyon, after Colorado in USA the deepest in the world.
The Canyon have unique flora and fauna, and despite its major tributaries, Tara river is full with the springs of mineral water, that's why her nickname is "The tear of Europe" .
During the Rafting we will visit the orthodox monastery on the bank of the river, and we will stop to hike to the spring of shortest and strongest river in the world – Ljutica River ☺
From the start of May until the end of October, this Rafting path is open for all from the age of 7+
Our lunch is already announced at the locals, that will serve to us local pita (pie) specialty
After lunch, we drive direction Žabljak, the highest town in the Balkan at 1450m/al.
Arrival in our Hotel is expected at 19:00h ca.
The dinner is served in National restaurant Đedovina.

5. day – Ring of National Park Durmitor (safari)

Theme of the day: the local Geology
Our day trip start by visiting the view point Ćurevac at 1625 m/altitude, breathtaking view over the deepest point of Tara canyon,
Driving starts with uphill from Žabljak at 1450 m/altitude to Štuoc at 1950 m/altitude, then downhill to Katun little Crna Gora at 1582 m/altitude, here we will visit the *Katun and the local family.
* (Katun - is the area where the local ppl. are spending the summer with domestic animals... Typical way of ecological, simple living, all food is 100% organic),
Further to the edge of Canyon Sušica is relative straight, then starts the Off-road downhill drive in the canyon, to the Sušica lake at 1140 m/altitude, here we have a resting break in the nature ☺
After break, we continue driving uphill to the edge of Canyon Sušica to Katun Nedajno at 1500 m/altitude, the breathtaking view point is appearing suddenly, great timing for the inspiration and photo stop ☺
Our lunch is already announced at the local restaurant in Trsa, the typical village from the high of Durmitor, where we will taste the goulash made a la typical local way ☺
After lunch we continue our safari ring of Durmitor with uphill drive from Trsa to Todorov Do at 1800 m/altitude, for passing under the peak (Prutaš at 2050 m/altitude), then gentle up and downs over the pass Sedlo at 1838 m/altitude, with his two peaks at 2148 m/altitude & 2227 m/altitude,
All Durmitor Ring is breath taking natural beauty ☺
Arrival in our hotel is expected at 19:00h ca.
The dinner is served as a buffet in our hotel.

6. day - From the North to the South

Theme of the day: Religion and Wellness
We will visit the heart of National park Durmitor – the Black Lake (Crno Jezero), for walking the ring of the lake (ca. 4,5 km of straight path),
We are leaving the north of the country, on our way to the south we will pass Šavnik & Nikšić towns, to our way to the Mont. Ostrog for visiting the Ostrog monastery.
Before visiting the monastery, we will have the lunch in the National restaurant,
For Lunch we will be served: Lamb specialty, with potatoes under the *Sač (Iron bell), with seasonal salad, cheese and this family's homemade wine ☺

Arrival in our Hotel at the Adriatic shore is expected at 19:00h ca.
The dinner is served as a buffet in our hotel.

7. day.
Visit of Dubrovnik Old City with a local guide,
free time in the Old town...
