There are more story legends how the name Montenegro - Crna Gora
(black mountain) came from...
The first is that the sea people should have given it's name. Ahead of them there was a land so close to the sea, but at the same time so far away cause of the chain mountains that suddenly grew up from the coast.
The other was that the enemies should have given the name cause of the dark destiny that became upon them in these mountains.
But the most likely is that the name comes from Crnojevići, the last ruler of Zeta.
After the turks attack, they had to move from the straight, fertile ground to the mountains around Cetinje.
The fall of Zetas ruler and the exit of Crnojevići, reminded only the memories and the name – Crnojevića Gora
(Crno/black and Gora/mountain).
From there the abbreviation comes CRNA GORA - MONTENEGRO
Because of the inexplicable contrast the people named it also
"The land with six continents".
It is unknown who first used this name, but it's for sure that they were right.
